Manager, Shariah Management

Description

  • Developing Shariah Training Plan and modules for Shariah training to all internal stakeholders, namely staff, senior management, SC and BOD;
  • Inculcating Shariah compliance culture, among others by conducting continuous Shariah training and engagement for the internal stakeholder i.e. staff, senior management, SC and BOD.
  • Performing any special task or project assigned to Group Shariah Division;
  • Acting as secretariat for Shariah Governance Committee (SGC) and any of the project assigned to Group Shariah Division;
  • Developing, updating and enhancing the Shariah related policies and procedures pursuant to Shariah policy documents or any related documents.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To develop Shariah Training Plan and Module for Shariah training to all internal stakeholders.
  • To conduct Shariah training and awareness for the Bank’s staff and its subsidiaries with cooperation and coordination of Learning & Capability Development.
  • To manage and inculcate Shariah compliance culture, among others by conducting continuous Shariah training and engagement for the internal stakeholders.
  • To review and update Group Shariah Division Procedure, Purification of Shariah Non-Compliant (SNC) Income Guideline and Corporate Zakat (Computation & Distribution) Guideline.
  • To conduct and accomplish any special task assigned to the Group Shariah Division e.g. full-fledged Islamic Banking Project.
  • To act as secretariat for Project Steering Committee (PSC) and Project Working Committee (PWC) of the Project.
  • To initiate, plan and coordinate any necessary Working Groups as required by Shariah Committee or Management.
  • To report and update the project timeline and achievement to the PSC, Management Committee, Shariah Committee and Board Committee.
  • To monitor and ensure the successfulness of the project.

Accountabilities

  • To ensure the principal responsibilities are aligned with SME Bank’s aspirations and Shariah’s governance framework.
  • To jointly coordinate, administer & manage the implementation of principal responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

Qualification & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Islamic Banking operations

  • Islamic Financing & Deposit Modules Knowledge
