Senior Executive, Shariah Business Solution & Centre of Excellence

• To advise on the implementation of the Islamic products and operations of SME Bank are in compliance with the SAC BNM and the Bank’s SC resolutions at all time;
• To provide continuous Shariah advice on existing products, processes, and services in ways that continually focus on improving productivity and efficiency.
• Supervising Islamic Banking Financing portfolios & approvals as well as fund placement & acceptance;
• To assist in developing appropriate guidance Shariah compliance comprising Shariah parameter to govern the operationalization of the Bank.
• To assist in performance of Shariah Centre of Excellence in complimenting the Bank’s mandated role focusing on SME’s entrepreneur.

• To provide day-to-day Shariah advisory and consultancy to relevant parties including those involved in the product development.
• To advise on the implementation of the decision of the SAC of BNM and SC of the Bank in all Islamic banking products and operation.
• To provide opinions from Shariah perspective and to answer any queries on Shariah issues in relation to the Bank’s business and operations raised by the management and staff.
• To perform the delegated function by the SC in approving the financing applications within the approved parameter.
• To provide advisory on Shariah related matter for annual review, reschedule & restructuring (R&R).
• To assist in performing independent Shariah evaluation on new/revised products and/or programs, policies, manual and guidelines.
• To assist in reviewing all relevant Islamic legal documentations including notices, transactional documents to ensure meet all the Shariah requirements.
• To review all marketing collaterals, advertisements, product brochures to be in line with the Shariah.
• To provide takyif fiqhi/Shariah justification for proposal paper from stakeholder that are Shariah related which will be tabled to SC/ EXCO/BOD or any relevant committee meeting.
• To provide report of SC’s delegated function i.e. Formalization to Shariah Committee on periodic basis.
• To be instrumental in assisting Shariah Research functions.
• To develop comprehensive “in-house one-stop centre” for Shariah knowledge/reference
• To assist on Shariah Digital Innovations and Process e.g. comprehensive Shariah Research database digital platform.
• To collaborate for Islamic Finance Leadership/ Research Initiative

• To execute the function of Shariah Advisory and Centre of Excellence.

• Fresh Graduate or experienced in Shariah related positions in relevant Islamic Banking/Finance industries with good professional ethics and occupational track records (if any).

• Fundamentals of Islamic Finance
• Ethics & Governance in IB
• Shariah Perspective on Risk & Strategic Management
• Islamic Financing & Deposit Modules Knowledge
• Legal & Shariah Transactions in Islamic Finance

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah/Fiqh discipline or its equivalent in relevant fields, and in possession of relevant professional qualifications fulfilling the regulatory requirements (if any).

Fresh Graduate or experienced in Shariah related positions in relevant Islamic Banking/Finance industries with good professional ethics and occupational track records (if any).
